Corporate Volunteer Opportunities
Career Management Expo
This event is designed to help students with their career path management. Various booths will be available for students to drop in and chat with business professionals about building a strong résumé, strengthening their LinkedIn profile, preparing for case interviews, and so much more! Interested in volunteering for one of the booths? Email me to get on our list.
Résumé Rescue
To help students prepare for the career fair, we will host short 1:1 résumé review sessions with students through Microsoft Teams. You will be able to set your own individual résumé review schedule, and students will be able to drop in and chat with you. Whether you’re available all day or just for an hour, we would love to have you join us!
Pitched Perfect
Much like “Speed Networking,” students will present their pitch to an employer representative, and then receive feedback before rotating to the next employer table. Students have the opportunity to train with the Business Communications Lab at a workshop in advance of the pitch delivery event. Learning objectives: increase student self-confidence, introduce students to the skill of professional communication, eliminate anxiety and increase preparedness for the student, teach the student to identify their most valuable skills and define their personal brand.
Friday Forums
At the beginning of the pandemic, Walton Career Services started a new program called “Friday Forums.” These are virtual meetings to discuss relevant topics for job searching, professional development, etc. If you are interested in joining us one week as a featured employer, let us know. You could have the first 5 – 10 minutes to introduce yourself, describe your company, and discuss opportunities for students. Then stick around as the topic of the day is discussed, and help answer questions at the end.
